Inspired Ingenuity / Really Useful Poster Series

Serendipity, the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way, is a wonderful thing. One email in my inbox asked me to write a short article about inspired ingenuity, and in particular to identify a piece of work that I thought made ’something from nothing’. And the very next email had, what I thought, exactly that.

Sigurd/Brynhild

Boxed set based on an excerpt from William Morris’s text Sigurd the Volsung and the Fall of the Niblungs, which details the exploits of the Norse hero Sigurd, among them his ultimately tragic love affair with the valkrie Brynhild.

This boxed set contains two books: the first is an excerpt from Morris’s text, and the second is a 70-spread visual interpretation of that text, letterpressed from linoleum blocks and polymer plates.

I212NYC

ID solution for Mario Delic's exhibition about New York. The sixty-four page catalogue presents scenes of New York at its best. The dialling code for NY is 212, so we fused the two together and created the logo that was splashed across one side of the B1 fold out invite. The other side displayed one of his photographs. We also produced a micro site to let people know everything about Mario, the show, and his work.

Eastern Electrics May 09

A purely typographic treatment was chosen for Eastern Electrics' May 2009 event. Playing on the month of the event, a series of playful slogans which coupled with the emphasis of the 'e' within the posters created a series of strong campaign visuals.

Bunch of Stars

The project evolved from Bunch being chosen to devise a distinct identity forThe Star of Bethnal Green in 2008. A traditional long-tailed star was taken and illustrated to create artwork that represented the corresponding month. This was applied each month for approximately a year with all of the illustration done in house by Bunch.

Illustrators were then sought out from the furthest reaches of the globe including Guatemala, Iceland, Uganda and Indonesia to celebrate and explore the concept of how stars appear differently depending on where in the world you happen to be gazing.

Bunch of Stars brochure, limited edition screen-printed poster and t-shirts are exclusively available from our Shop.

Show Must Go On!

Show Must Go On! was a Kapulica balcony performance for the people of Zagreb. With Queen echoing through the streets, he was on a mission to banish their recession blues. An aeroplane flew a sign through the sky as leaflets fluttered to the ground and cannons blasted confetti into the air. 150 screen printed and hand numbered posters were designed to mark the event.
